Best of the Best: Best BaxterBoo Items for the Camping Season

The smell of flowers blooming and the sounds of birds chirping… ah yes, summer has arrived!  Of course with some nice beautiful weather, camping is on the forefront of everyone’s mind.  Okay, maybe not everyone, but mine anyway.  This week’s Best of the Best is dedicated to showing off some of the best camping items that BaxterBoo has to offer!

Travel Bowls

Whether you are hiking through the woods in search of amazing views or simply relaxing by the campfire, a travel dog bowl is a must! This one, by Guardian Gear, is durable, easy-clean polyester that holds more than two quarts of food or water. This is the easy way to keep pets hydrated and fed on the go. Great for walking, camping, or road trips, these durable polyester travel bowls have metal carabiner clips for easy attachment to backpacks, belts, and more.

Protective Footwear for Dogs

If you are a person that enjoys hiking through the back woods, you know that a good pair of boots is a must have.  This holds true for dogs as well.  Bark ‘n Boots Grip Trex by Ruff Wear are exactly what your pup needs!  We love the practicality and extreme ruggedness of these back-country dog shoes. These high-traction dog boots with rugged lug pattern provide stability on natural, rough, or unstable terrain. The Bark’n Boots Grip Trex by Ruff Wear in Red Currant feature non-marking Vibram outsoles with a new multi-directional, flexible lug design that gives your dog tactile control on terra firma. A one-piece mud guard enhances the fit and long-term durability of the boot. These are especially helpful in areas with sharp or volcanic rocks to prevent your dog from injuring their paw pads.

A Camping Chair for Your Buddy

When you do finally decide to rest for the day, a nice pet cot is the perfect way to keep your pet off of the ground and comfortable.  Our Elevated Pet Cots protect pets from uncomfortable cold, hot, damp, and uneven surfaces. Lightweight cots allow air to circulate beneath dog for a healthier, more comfortable rest. Provides comfortable support for arthritic or geriatric dogs. Spring locks on each durable cot allow assembly and disassembly in seconds without tools, making it the perfect go-anywhere bed for travel and camping. Fabric is heavy-duty polyester oxford, water resistant, and is UV-resistant deep green polyester. Cover is removable for cleaning. Frame is constructed of powder-coated, rust-resistant steel. Velcro® along sides allows bed to be stretched or relaxed for customized tension.

Travel Bed

Now if you prefer the sleeping bag method, and would like your dog to be on your level as you watch the stars pass through the sky, then check out our Mt. Bachelor Pad Dog Bed by Ruff Wear.  Traveling with a pet can be cumbersome, but the Mt. Bachelor Pad Dog Bed by Ruff Wear makes things a whole lot easier. The top of this cozy bed is made of recycled polyester fleece and the base is PVC-free, waterproof recycled polycloth that works as a moisture barrier. 1-inch of thermal padding adds a comfortable insulating cushion for your dog. Best of all, this lightweight bed rolls into a lean, convenient bedroll with carry handle. In addition to keeping dogs comfortable, this flexible pad will cover furniture, car upholstery, or any place that needs protection from dirt and dog hair.

We hope these ideas will inspire you to get out there and play!

  1. It is definitely important for your dog to have protect footwear. Think of your self climbing on rocks in your bare feet. A good quality pet bed after those long walks will give your dog the rest he will need, plenty of water and of course some choice treats.
