Feline Friday: Finally! Cats Get Their Own Film Fest!

Dear Gentle Readers,

We cats rule the Internet. We are YouTube sensations. It was just a matter of time before we were given the recognition we deserve as artists and actors. We know you feel guilty about hiding in your cubicles watching us, hoping your coworkers don’t see…

Honestly, you people could use a few tips from us cats. Scratch the litter a bit and come out of that box (i.e., cubicle!) Strut like you own it! That’s what folks did at the first ever Internet Cat Film Festival last night (August 30, 2012.) Granted,┬áMinneapolis isn’t exactly the venue I would have chosen… Not nearly as glamorous as say, the Cannes Film Festival in France, but at least it was held at a well-regarded museum of modern art, The Walker Art Center.

There were estimates of 7,000 human attendees. No word as of yet on how many cats attended. I look forward to hearing about the epic after parties! After all, we cats are known for our wild antics. I mean, isn’t that why you people feel compelled to film us incessantly?

If you are as disappointed as I am that you couldn’t attend, I will ease your distress with a selection of my purrsonal favorite cat videos, and will post the actual winners next week!

I have to say, that this OMG cat video just gets me every time! Maybe because it shows the expressive awe of the “Spielberg Face” is purrfected in felines.

As much as we owe to our fellow felines, I have to give kudos to the kids that did a voice over on this kitty video:

Finally, I must post this video of the famous Japanese Maru, who embodies everything charming about us cats. If one of Maru’s videos don’t garner enough accolades at the festival, cats everywhere will throw a giant hissy fit!

Love when I’m in the mood,

Ms. Bella Boo

P.S. What are your favorite cat videos?
