Halloween can be a little spooky for pets. Trick or treat strangers coming to the door all evening, the constant doorbell ringing, the bowl full of chocolate, the front door opening up with unusual creatures waiting, but never coming in to give back scratches… it can be more than a little overwhelming for pets. It’s a Freaky Feline Friday! In honor of the season, I set out to write about some of the more unusual, slightly scarier-looking members of the domestic cat world. I thought an article featuring a few members of the hairless cat breeds would be a fun freak show that would be much more interesting than talking about black cats, which are not scary at all.
When my wandering coworkers were stopping in their tracks and staring at the hairless cats on my computer screen, I knew I was on to something! Now, several hours later with much sleep deprivation, this blog isn’t going anywhere like I thought it would! Continue reading
Many dog owners are learning new tricks to keep the cost of pet ownership down. One of the skills you can develop is learning how to groom your own dog. It makes me a bit reluctant to write a blog, to be honest. And perusing the pet-related news today was not helping with terrible stories of animal abuse (double sigh.)
Fortunately, a coworker sent me a cute video, and I instantly felt better (thanks Deanna!) So I thought I’d post a couple of cute videos as a remedy in case any of you are feeling crummy too. Feel free to share the love, since Mondays can be tough even if you’re you’re fit as a fiddle! You won’t want to miss these… Continue reading
It’s the 12th Day of
Dogtober… I can’t hardly even choke out that word, it’s so overdone! So I’m renaming it Catober! It is Feline Friday, after all!
I do, however, approve of today’s Circus theme. The reason for that is that there are simply dozens of videos of cats in circuses that I’m dying to show you! And not just my big cat cousins either. Continue reading
The world has been painted pink for Breast Cancer Awareness month. While pets may not understand the significance of this cause, they do love people, and a good many of them are dependent on the health and well being of nurturing women. So of course they are willing to become a visual supporter of the pink ribbon campaign! Continue reading
